I was born in Kentucky into a family blessed with a Godly heritage. I was saved and sanctified at age 14, and I know it is because of the prayers of others that I began my walk with the Lord at a young age.
In 1981 I graduated from Mount Carmel High School in Vancleve, Kentucky and from Kentucky Mountain Bible College in 1984. After graduating, I married Greg McDonald that summer, and we then moved to Bourbonnais, Illinois where we attended and graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 1987. We worked at Olivet until God called us to Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene in 1989.
God has blessed me with three precious children here on earth and one in heaven, in addition to two grandsons that I adore. I am the secretary at the church and also am the Client Coordinator at a Women's Resource Center. I play the piano for the church praise team, help in children's ministries, and assist in a number of ministries in the church. I enjoy reading, cooking, horseback riding, and time with my family.
In the front cover of my Bible, my mother wrote the following verses that have been the stability and strength that I have needed time after time:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
The unconditional love of Jesus is why I choose to serve Him. I will never understand why He loves me but He does, and to the best of my ability I will serve Him and follow the path He has laid out for me.
