My name is Greg McDonald and I have been senior pastor of the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene since 1989. I was born in Winslow, a small town in Southwest Indiana. I have wonderful Christian parents who lived Christlikeness in front of me. I was saved on June 16, 1978, at the age of 14. At that time God led me to attend a Christian boarding school in Eastern Kentucky called Mount Carmel High School. After three years there, God led me to Kentucky Mountain Bible College where I was sanctified and called into ministry.
Shortly after graduating with an associate degree in ministry, I married Charlene, who also graduated from KMBC, and we moved to Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL. After finishing my Bachelor's degree in Religion, I was called to the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene to pastor. Over these years of pastoring, God has helped us to relocate, build a new worship facility, a family life center, an additional activity center, and classrooms. Many lives are being transformed by the power of Christ.
On a personal note, I am kind of an ordinary Indiana boy. I grew up fishing and hunting and basically loving the outdoors. I love construction and work occasionally installing heat and air conditioning systems. I have three children and two grandsons who are the lights of my life. My passion is music. I have always loved to sing. Being a part of the praise team at our church is sheer joy.
Our Mission statement at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene is "With Jesus as Lord, we share His love." It is my hope that every person touched by our ministry will sense the power of Christ's love drawing them to Himself. God has the answer for all who seek peace and freedom. Jesus is the truth and knowing the truth will set us free. God bless all who visit this site. Remember, Jesus loved you so much that He died for your sins. His forgiveness is just a confession away!!!
